Where to Create Your Own Site

There are several options for creating your own web site that are both easy and free. However, they all have their own pros and cons, so as you think about what is most important to you and what kind of design you would like for your site to have, these are some options (as well as a few pros and cons of each) for you to consider:

    • Easy to use
    • Can have two users with different accounts who can edit the site

    • Limited number of templates
    • Not all templates ergonomically designed
    • Difficult to change templates
    • Cannot wrap text around photos easily
• Weebly -
  • Pros:
    • Lots of templates to choose from
    • Easy to wrap text around pictures
  • Cons:
    • Web site can be slow
    • Must start whole new template, cannot edit html of existing templates
    • May not have enough features for advanced designers
• Webs (formerly Free Webs) -
  
  • Pros:
    • Enormous number of templates
    • Can alter parts of templates easily
    • Very easy to use
  • Cons:
    • Must pay money to remove ad from the top of the site
• Google Sites -
   
  • Pros:
    • Can make sites private and specify users who can see your site
    • Site usually quite fast
    • Can easily upload documents
    • Very few choices can lead to very clean, easy to use site
  • Cons:
    • No real templates, only color schemes
    • Very little design
    • Must have Google account to use
