Page Scrolling
Page scrolling refers to movement of the user through a webpage. An alternative to page scrolling, creating several shorter pages, may also be effective, so website designers should consider the following recommendations when choosing between these two options:
- Avoid the use of horizontal scrolling.
- Facilitate scrolling speed by clearly highlighting key information.
- Keep scrolling to a minimum (e.g., by breaking information into shorter pages), especially when users are looking for specific information.
- Use long pages that require extensive scrolling only when reading comprehension is necessary (e.g., a research article).
