Explanations of Usability Violations
Poor Usability #1 Violations:
- Using blue, underlined font.
- Using abbreviations and/or inappropriate language.
- Using all capital letters.
- Inappropriate and confusing use of headings.
Poor Usability #2 Violations:
- Hyphenating words on more than two consecutive lines.
- Excessive number of words in sentences and sentences in paragraphs.
- Lack of white space.
- Providing a lot of information in a long paragraph instead of bullet points.
Poor Usability #3 Violations:
- Font color is difficult to read.
- Font color will not show up well when printing.
- Mentions "recent" event that will need to be frequently updated and can be confusing.
Poor Usability #4 Violations:
- Use of distracting graphics.
- Important information is at the bottom of the page and difficult to find.
- Inappropriate content for a professional website.
