Continuation

Continuation: the eye is led from one object (or one end of an object) to another.

The horizontal wave connecting the "H" leads the eye directly to the maple leaf.

You can add visual interest to your page or steer your viewers to a particular part of your page using continuation. Just imagine if the maple leaf was next to a link (sort of like a bullet point) to the next page you wanted users to visit - you would have steered them right to it!
